We already knew that Guerrilla Games was hard at work on a new expansion for Horizon: Zero Dawn, with the forthcoming Frozen Wilds set to release in November. But we've been seeing hints that it would tie in to a Game of the Year Edition, so players could experience the opening saga of Aloy in one shot.

Good news – that's exactly what's happening. Sony has announced that Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition will indeed make its way to PlayStation 4 on December 5th, and will include the Frozen Wilds expansion alongside the main game.

In addition to that, all the content from the Digital Deluxe version of the game will also be included.

This will allow players to seamlessly enjoy Aloy's adventure without having to worry about any add-ons, as she makes her way through the main adventure, then ventures into the frozen north, where the mysterious fourth tribe awaits, along with new mechanized dangers.

What's more, the Complete Edition is actually pretty fairly priced. Instead of going for the usual $59.99 price point, it'll be sold for only $49.99, making it a fairly good pick-up for the PS4 just in time for the holidays. You know, if you're giving your loved one a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 4 Pro around that time.

For those of you that already have the game, though, you'll still be able to pick up Frozen Wilds in its own right, as the expansion is set to arrive on November 7th and will run around $19.99. If you're a PlayStation Plus member, you'll be able to score it at 25 percent off, meaning it'll go down to $14.99. So, yes, you'll be able to experience Aloy's continuing adventures as well.

With that, it doesn't sound like Guerrilla has any new content planned for Horizon going into 2018 (even though Frozen Wilds was noted as a first expansion originally), but that just means the team will get to work on a potential follow-up, since Sony has seen Aloy as one of its key stars for the PlayStation 4 – and just the ideal figure for a sequel. Hopefully it arrives sooner rather than later.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is available now for PlayStation 4.
