EA Sports UFC 3 Announced, More Details Coming Later This Week

You just can’t keep a good UFC fighter down, as EA Sports is ready to prove.

The company has officially confirmed that it’s working on a new UFC game, with full details set to be revealed this Friday, on November 3rd, during a special showcase.

EA Sports revealed the first teaser for the game just a little while ago, with a brief glimpse at what fans can expect from its showcase later this week. You can check out the teaser below.

Instead of focusing on a lot of veteran talent like EA Sports UFC 2 did, the teaser for the next game features a variety of fighters. Sure, you get to see legends like Georges St. Pierre and Anderson Silva, but there are others, including Women’s Strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, the returning Conor McGregor (who was on the cover of UFC 2 alongside Ronda Rousey) and UFC flyweight champ Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson. The game will feature a heavy amount of other superstars across various weight divisions, including a fair share of female superstars ready to step up and fight.

It’s unknown if all of EA Sports UFC 2’s superstars will step up for the third game, like Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar, but we could know more in just a couple days’ time, when we learn more about the game’s expansive roster, as well as its improvements in gameplay.

So what would we like to see from UFC 3? Maybe gameplay that’s more in line with what THQ did with its Undisputed series, so it adapts more to newcomers that are getting into the series for the first time. We’d also love to see more online features, perhaps something along the lines of Ultimate Team, where you can collect UFC superstars. We’ll know soon enough.

We’ll bring you the lowdown on what details are revealed for the game when Friday rolls around. It doesn’t have a release date, but it’s expected sometime next year for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 -- so get your fighting skills ready!
