Yesterday saw the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles and Activision and Treyarch are launching the zombie-splattering fun with a special event, entitled 8 Days of the Undead. What's does this event involve exactly? Here's the basic rundown:
"To celebrate launch day on May 16th, Activision and Treyarch will kick off the '8 Days of the Undead,' during which players of Black Ops III on all platforms and players of Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles on PS4 will be able to earn double XP rewards, engage in community challenges and receive a host of free exclusive content including a Zombies calling card, weapon camo, new Gobble Gums and a PS4 theme."
Okay, sounds pretty neat, but I bet 8 Days of the Dead would seem more exciting if its features were shouted at me by gravelly-voiced movie announcer. Well, Activision and Treyarch deliver just that in a new grindhouse-style 8 Days of the Dead trailer. This video delivers all the head-bursting carnage you could want, while actually being pretty informative. 8 DAYS OF THE DEAD! Watch the trailer of GO TO HELL. Sorry, just getting in the spirit.
Oh, and as a reminder, those exclusive calling cards you get by racking up headshots feature art by Metal Gear Solid character designer Yoji Shinkawa. The art is pretty great, so get popping those tops.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles launches on PlayStation 4 on May 16, while PC and Xbox One players will have to wait until June 16. It's a little weird that PC and Xbox One players can participate in 8 Days of the Dead a month before they get the DLC its celebrating, but that's timed exclusives for you.
