This past week, thousands upon thousands of Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players got to try out Destiny 2, checking out the single player campaign opening mission, along with the abundant multiplayer options. But some PC owners were wondering when they would be able to get a turn.

Well, it won't be long now. Bungie has confirmed that the early access period for the PC edition of Destiny 2 will kick off next month, starting on August 28th. The beta will be open to those who pre-order the full game (which, in turn, also nets you an exclusive Exotic weapon) at that time. If you want to wait, though, it'll go completely open on August 29th, and you'll be able to play it for your desktop or laptop of choice (if it can run it) through August 31st. There is a slight chance it could see an expansion, like the console version did, but, for now, it looks like just those three days.

The company did note that, in order to get the most out of the beta, you'll want to get the most out of your PC. You'll want to make sure you have at least a GTX 660 or HD 7850, along with a Core i3-3250 or FX-4350, along with 6GB of RAM. At that point, you should be able to see how well the game runs.

Now, keep in mind that you'll have to access the beta through Battle.net, as that's the service that Destiny 2 is exclusively being offered through on the PC front. However, it's easy to register for an account, and then you should be able to see the beta right on the home page shortly after it launches. It's a small process, and it certainly won't stop you from jumping in and joining your friends in battle – the Crucible is definitely the place to be when it comes to a beta like this.

The contents haven't been introduced yet, but they should be very familiar to the ones introduced with the console beta, so you get a taste of everything that the game has to offer.

Destiny 2 will release on PC on October 24th, and Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 6th.
