The Entertainment Software Rating Board has officially posted its rating for the upcoming ninth installment of the Dynasty Warriors series, giving it a rating of T for mild language, references to alcohol, and obviously, violence.

The ESRB's full assessment of the game is as follows: "This is a tactical action game in which players assume the role of warriors battling for control of ancient China. Players engage in hack-and-slash combat with hordes of enemy soldiers using swords, spears, crossbows, hammers, and bladed weapons. Battles are highlighted by sword-slashing effects, impact sounds, and cries of pain; enemies collapse to the ground when killed. In a handful of cut scenes, characters are depicted impaled by arrows and spears. The game contains references to alcohol in the dialogue (e.g., "I hope you can hold your alcohol, because I want to have a few drinks tonight"; "He loves wine, too, and drinks a lot of it"; "I like to share some wine with my friends."). The word "bastard" appears in the game."

This doesn't come as a huge surprise - most Dynasty Warriors titles end up for a T rating simply because of how many people end up impaled on to giant spears. The only major Dynasty Warriors title to receive anything otherwise was the DS game Dynasty Warriors: Fighter's Battle, which scored a rating of E 10+ for violence.

The series adapts and loosely follows the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, an epic Chinese story saga that sort of dolls up the country's history. It's an interesting story involving many threads weaving together at once. The game series is probably best known for its massive amount of playable characters and stress-relieving game play, which throws players in the middle of mass attackers and lets them take enemies out as creatively and quickly as possible.

Dynasty Warriors 9 is set for release on February 8, 2018 and will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
