Final Fantasy XV has just dropped a new update, and it's a bit of a strange one. I suppose that's appropriate given Final Fantasy XV is kind of a strange game in general.
The update doesn't offer up much in the way of bug fixes and balance tweaks, but it does add a new stinky tofu recipe for Ignis to whip up. Sure, why not? In addition to that, winners of a recent snapshot contest will have their masterpiece hung in the restaurant in Hammerhead, and you can buy a new "Trendy Outfit" for Noctis.
I kind of wish more games came out with weird and random updates like this. Imagine if the latest Call of Duty update added the ability to cook a smelly tofu recipe? Hardcore players probably wouldn't appreciate it, but I'd find it amusing. Why doesn't anybody think of the hardworking video game bloggers who have to report on these patches?

- Survey about future updates added to title screen (available until the end of June)
- "Plump 'n' Pungent Tofu" recipe added. Ingredients: Chocobean, Kettier Ginger & Sweet Pepper (Effects: "Last Stand" & LV1 EXP boost).
- Photo from the second Snapshot Contest will be displayed at the restaurant in Hammerhead.
- Timed Quests crash bug fixed.
- Various minor bugs fixed.
The most interesting part of the new patch is the survey, which can be accessed from the Final Fantasy XV's main title screen. The survey polls fans about what they'd like to see in future DLC – every player is only allowed to choose one option, and whichever one gets the most votes will be considered by the development team. Seeing as they came up with all these suggestions, I hope they do more than consider the winner.

The list includes new story content detailing Ardyn's past, Ifrit's betrayal, and what Noctis was up to during his disappearance, additional playable characters (Cor, Aranea, Iris, Lunafreya, Gentiana) and more gameplay-focused additions, like a hard mode and new magical abilities. I imagine most people will pick something story-related, but who knows? You can check out the full list of options in the image, below.

The Final Fantasy XV survey will be available until the end of June. No hint has been given as to when we can expect any of this DLC to arrive.
