Originally slated for a release on Oct. 31, the Comrades multiplayer DLC is now expected to be released on Nov. 15. It was delayed after an announcement from Square Enix that said there was still some finishing touches that needed to be put on the expansion before it was released, but it looks as though it didn’t take the team long to get the issues straightened out.
The announcement for the new released date of the multiplayer expansion came from the game’s Japanese Twitter account. Even if you can’t read Japanese, the 11/15 date is all that you need to see to get excited about the upcoming multiplayer experience for the latest Final Fantasy game.

Within Comrades, players will be able to create their own unique character while inheriting some of the powers that Noctis had in the main game. Working alongside others will reward you with the best experience in the DLC โ it is a multiplayer expansion, after all โ but there will still be new content for you to take on yourself if you choose to.
In addition to the announcement about the expansion’s new release date, the Twitter account also revealed that the Xbox One X update was ready to be released and is now available to download. If you’re planning on picking up the new Xbox console on Nov. 7 when it releases, you can get a head start on your Xbox One X enhancements by downloading the update now that’s roughly 8 GB in size. In addition to the performance and graphics improvements, the number of hunts that you can take on at one time has also been increased so that you can hold more than just one. PlayStation 4 players will get that hunt-changing update as well on Nov. 10.
Those who have the season pass for Final Fantasy XV will receive the Comrades expansion for free when it releases on Nov. 15, but you’ll have to purchase it separately otherwise to participate in the multiplayer experience.
