Freddy Krueger Could Be The Next Dead By Daylight DLC

Dead by Daylight is a popular survival horror game that may players have enjoyed, and often compared to that of another talked about title – Friday the 13th: The Game. Instead of treading those murky Jason waters, the team by Dead by Daylight is determined to do anything but the route that the F13th team took. Because of that, and thanks to recent data-mined info, it looks like the notorious Freddy Krueger might be making his way out of nightmares and into the game here soon!

The latest rumor to hit comes courtesy of the Steam forum for the game itself. The original post extrapolates the following from the data mining done:

“Next Killer: the Sandmann aka Freddy Krueger LEAKED Sound Files Extracted the sound Files from the Game.
Killer: Sandman Weapon: ClawedGlove Ability: Dreammaster Survivor: Kate Denson
(If you hear sound File #10 you hear the Freddy Krueger song)”

There is also a clip containing the soundbyte that could potentially be the confirmation that horror fans have been looking for. With Michael Myers and Leatherface have already made their appearances, the king of nightmares would only make sense for the next step – especially so with Halloween just around the corner!

For those who may not know about the iconic Nightmare on Elm Street villain, Frederick Charles “Freddy” Krueger is a notorious serial killer that had his terror spread across a multitude of films. This “family man” by day was actually the Springwood Slasher serial killer. When the justice system failed to make him pay for his crimes, the parents of his victims burned him alive. From there, things only got worse.

Instead of succumbing to death, Krueger instead became a Dream Demon that could kill from the nightmares of his victims, making this already deadly figure infinitely more powerful. For those that died in his web of nightmares, they also died in real life. After he claimed his victims, their souls were then absorbed to make him all the more powerful. 

Terrifying stuff and sounds like the perfect addition to the Dead by Daylight roster. Dead by Daylight is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
