After seeing what seems like a countless number of delays, Sony has confirmed that Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo Sport will be arriving on the PlayStation 4 on October 17th. The game will feature exquisite visuals that make it the most stunning looking entry in the series to date, along with the gameplay that fans have come to expect from it.

In addition, the game will be fully playable in PlayStation VR, so you’ll actually be able to sit behind the driver’s seat and rev up like a champ as you conquer the tracks in first-person mode.

Sony has announced that, alongside the regular edition of the game, there will also be two special editions, which have been broken down below:

Gran Turismo Sport Limited Edition โ€“ $69.99 MSRP ($89.99 CAN)

  • GT Sport Starter Pack (8 Cars)
  • $1MM In-Game Credit
  • Livery Sticker Pack
  • 30 GT Sport Themed Avatars
  • Chrome Racing Helmet (For Driver Profile)
  • Limited Steel Book & Packaging

Gran Turismo Sport Digital Deluxe Edition โ€“ $79.99 MSRP ($99.99 CAN)

  • GT Sport Starter Pack (12 Cars)
  • $2MM In-Game Credit
  • Livery Sticker Pack
  • 60 GT Sport Themed Avatars
  • Chrome Racing Helmet (For Driver Profile)

As far as more details about the game, the president of Polyphony Digital, Kazunori Yamauchi, has noted that we’ll get those over the next few months, including more information on what cars will be added to the game, what tracks we can expect to race on (the Nurburgring better be back, just saying) and the new campaign mode, which will challenge you with circuits all over the globe. We’ll also likely get more details about the game’s online component as well, since that plays such a vital part to die-hard racing fans.

You can check out the announcement trailer for the game above. If you’re a racing enthusiast, it’s certainly news to your ears, and should make for quite the PlayStation 4 exclusive for Sony this fall when the holiday season comes rolling around. Who doesn’t like to get a little racing on for the holidays?

Gran Turismo Sport will release exclusively for PlayStation 4.
