Hades 2 Full Release Finally Confirmed (And It’s Sooner Than You Think)

Ever since Hades 2 first launched into Early Access in 2024, fans have been eager for news of the game’s full release. The highly anticipated follow-up to the beloved god-like rogue-like, Hades, received praise as a fairly polished Early Access experience. But many fans didn’t want to spoil the story, which means they’ve been holding out for the 1.0 launch to jump into Hades 2. And now, we have confirmation of when Hades 2 will finally get its full release.

During the September 12th Nintendo Direct showcase, we finally learned that Hades 2 will launch on September 25th for the Nintendo Switch 2. Supergiant will arrive as a timed console exclusive on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, with additional consoles likely to be added in the future. Regardless, at long last, the full version highly anticipated sequel is almost here.

Hades 2 Release Date Revealed in Stunning New Launch Trailer

Whether you’re familiar with Hades 2 from Early Access or not, the 1.0 launch trailer is well worth a watch. This stunning animated trailer introduces our protagonist, Melinoe, and the basic story premise of the game. It highlights the voice acting and compelling characters that are part of what makes the Hades series so amazing. You can check it out below:

The 1.0 launch of Hades 2 will bring us the full story at last, along with the many improvements and changes that Supergiant Games introduced throughout Early Access. It will initially be available only on the Switch family of systems, as well as PC via Steam and Epic Games. Additional consoles will likely be added in the future, though nothing has been confirmed just yet.

In Early Access, Hades 2 was priced at $29.99. Players who already have the Early Access version will be able to upgrade to v1.0 for free when it releases on September 25th. New players will also be able to get the game at the $29.99 price point for Steam. The Nintendo eShop pages have not yet gone live, but it sounds like the game will be priced similarly on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles.

Supergiant Games has also confirmed that Hades 2 will support cross-saves between Switch and Swittch 2 versions and the Steam version of the game. So, if you want to transfer your Early Access progress to the new Switch console version, you can. Hades 2 hits 1.0 on September 25th, so there’s not too long to wait.
