Injustice 2 Comparison

Injustice 2 has been out for a few months now, and it's been wowing fighting and comic book fans alike. However, it's really hit its stride over the past few weeks, with its release on PC, as well as its compatibility updates for both PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. But which version fares the best?

Digital Foundry decided to find out with a new comparison video that takes a close look at both the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro versions, seeing how well HDR balances on both, as well as animations and other little details.

Now, the game runs at a default 60 frames per second as it is, so those of you with standard televisions probably can't see all the subtle differences that come with the new systems. However, if you've got a 4K compatible monitor or TV, you can probably see more of the details, like the Xbox One X running at 2880x1620, and the PlayStation 4 Pro running at 2560x1440 – both of which are highly impressive.

Again, you'll be hard-pressed to really spot the subtle differences between the two versions, but there's something here for everyone. Plus, the animations are solid, the backgrounds still look amazing, and the game doesn't lose any hint of its fluidity. They do see a boost compared to the Xbox One S, and probably the PlayStation 4 as well.

The video runs at about seven minutes, and Digital Foundry really digs into the technicality of it all if you're truly curious. It's well worth the watch, especially if you've been looking to make some sort of upgrade this holiday season.

Injustice 2 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
