League of Legends Champion and Skin Sale Aug. 18-21

A new round of champion and skin sales is now live in League of Legends that brings discounts for several competitive junglers and skins for supports, ADCs, and top laners alike.

Some of these champions you'll see pretty frequently during professional play in multiple roles, but most of them perform pretty well on their own at the normal level of play and in solo queue.

The date listed on the League website where updates such as these are typically announced says that the sales are scheduled to go from Aug. 18 until Aug. 22, but sales usually span a 3-day period, not a 4-day one. The same sale listed in the game's client says that the champions and skins will be on sale until Monday, so if you see Aug. 22 on the website, it's likely a typo.

Below is the full list of champions and skins that went on sale today and will be available for half off until Monday on Aug. 21:

• Nightblade Irelia for 260 RP
• Sweeper Alistar for 375 RP
• Blight Crystal Varus for 487 RP
• Pool Party Draven for 487 RP

Champions

• Gragas for 395 RP
• Lee Sin for 440 RP
• Viktor for 440 RP
• Azir for 487 RP

Judging from the skins that are on sale this time around, it seems that ADCs are the clear winners here with two 975 RP skins having their prices cut in half.

Varus will still see some action in pro play from time to time, but he's fallen out of favor recently as players move further away from lethality and more towards champions like Tristana, Kalista, and Ashe. But as far as normal play goes, Draven still proves to be a snowballing monster when paired with the right support who can give him an early advantage.

But as far as the champions on sale go, ADCs are nowhere to be found, instead replaced by junglers as the best options. Lee Sin has stuck around patch after patch, staying relevant throughout changes to himself and to items. Gragas is one of the top-tier junglers at the moment, so even though neither of them are too expensive anyway as far as RP goes, the discount definitely helps if you need a new jungler in your champion pool.

These champions and skins will be on sale from Aug. 18-21.
