League of Legends' Poro King Game Mode Returning Before Snow Battle ARURF

The new League of Legends game mode called Snow Battle ARURF isn't too far away, but Legends of the Poro King will make an appearance first before the snowy new addition.

Legend of the Poro King is a game mode that needs little introduction, a rotating game mode that's been seen time after time in the rotation. As part of the patch notes for the next League of Legends update, it was confirmed that the Legend of the Poro King game mode that takes place on the Howling Abyss map would be returning for a time on Dec. 12 and again on Jan. 2. With this rotating game mode falling within the Snowdown event, you'll also be able to equip your favorite Poro icons and fling some custom Poros at your enemies.

"Legend of the Poro King returns from 12/12/17 at 8:00 a.m. PT – 12/19/17 at 7:55 p.m. PT and 1/2/18 at 8:00 a.m. PT – 1/8/18 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Pelt your enemies in a grand snowball fight on the Howling Abyss to summon the resplendent Poro King. You can also equip poro icons and fight alongside their corresponding poro skins during Snowdown."

But between the first and the second durations that Legend of the Poro King will be live, Snow Battle ARURF will mix ARAM gameplay with ARURF. The game mode will be played on a wintery version of Summoner's Rift, but players will be able to toss snowballs like they would on the Howling Abyss to quickly Mark and Dash to an enemy. A predetermined pool of champions that have Snow Day skins or other winter-themed cosmetics will be the only champs that players can choose from, but each champion's snowy skins will be free to use in the game mode for the duration.
