A new League of Legends comic has just been revealed by Riot Games that tells the emotional and brutal story of Darius, Draven, and Noxus.

Created by an experienced team of writers and illustrators, the comic, Darius: Blood of Noxus, focuses mainly on Darius but still spends plenty of time digging into the brash past of Draven. While Darius is almost always serious in-game – unless you're using Dunkmaster Darius, of course – and Draven is much more charismatic, the comic shows both a more sensitive side of Darius and a serious demeanor for Draven.

A new character is also introduced in the beginning of the comic who plays a key role throughout the story. Quiletta, Darius' childhood friend and love interest, hasn't been seen before in Noxian lore, but the character blends in seamlessly with the core Noxian champions that we already know.

The full comic is an 11-page read, so if you're either new to comics or a page-flipping veteran who also loves League of Legends, this comic won't take you long at all to get through.

Below is the list of individuals that helped bring the comic to life that's presented on the credits page of the comic:

  • WRITER: Graham McNeill
  • ART AND COVER: Sana Takeda
  • EDITOR: Ellie Pyle
  • ART DIRECTOR: Eric Canete
  • LETTERER: Jacob Bascle
  • PRODUCTION ARTISTS: Idette Winecoor and Gabriela Downie
  • SPECIAL THANKS TO: Mark Waid

If some of these names look familiar to you, you're definitely not alone. The writer, Graham McNeill, is known for his work on Warhammer 40K comics, plenty of novels and novellas, and by his former game designer position at Games Workshop. Mcneill currently works as one of the Senior Writers over at Riot Games.

And if the art style was recognizable as well, you might be recalling some of Sana Takeda's Marvel comics. She's worked on titles such as Ms. Marvel and is also known for her Monstress comics.

This won't be the last comic that comes from Riot Games either. More comics are on the way, and some content is apparently already written.

You can read the full comic here through the League of Legends Universe page.
