It won't be too much longer now before players will be able to jump in to Madden NFL 18 and its many features, including the return of the Madden Ultimate Team, as well as online and offline options galore. But one new mode that appears to be getting a lot of attention is the new Longshot story mode, in which you follow in the footsteps of Devon Wade, a former college football star who had to give up on his dreams at one point, but finds the opportunity to redeem himself through a new television show.

The latest trailer for Madden NFL 18 digs a bit deeper into the Longshot story mode, and how players will be able to guide the decisions of Wade as he ultimately tries to make the best career for himself. As expected, decisions won't always come easy, as you'll sometimes need to make rough calls in order to provide the best route for yourself.

Longshot's trailer features a number of involved talents, including JR Lemon, who portrays Wade, as well as Mahershala Ali (who plays Cutter Wadde), former Miami Dolphins star Dan Marino, and actor Scott Porter, who portrays Colt Cruise. Other talents involved in the trailer include senior designer Josh Looman, producer Robin Cowie and cinematographer Brian Murray, who talk about the development process behind the game, which involved a lot of motion capture and specific writing.

It really gives you an idea of what to expect out of the mode, along with the Ultimate Team features, the debut of the new MUT Squads, and the addition of new play styles and a target passing mechanic to make you a better peak performer on the field. There's a lot more to this game than you might expect, along with the traditional Madden features that you've come to expect.

Longshot could go a long way at becoming a staple for the series from hereon in, especially with the talent that's involved with it. We can't wait to see where it goes.

Madden NFL 18 releases on August 25th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. If you're a fan of football, you shouldn't miss it.
