Mirage: Arcane Warfare in Open Beta All Weekend

Mirage Arcane Warfare - Free Open Betaby WWG

Are you ready to bash in some heads and set some fools on fire? Torn Banner, the studio responsible for the brutal medieval warfare simulator Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, announced that its highly anticipated new game Mirage: Arcane Warfare will be holding an open beta all weekend long. This is your chance to try the magic 'n multiplayer combat game for yourself and get hooked before it launches on May 23.

"Featuring the current roster of nine maps that are cycling through the beta, as well as the latest gameplay and technical improvements to the still-in-development game, the Mirage: Arcane Warfare Open Beta will also introduce a brand new gameplay mode called Arena. The new Arena mode is a 3-on-3, last-man-standing style competitive tournament mode that takes place on an entirely different set of smaller, more close-combat maps. The final game will ship with six Arena mode maps, but two are included in the Open Beta: Spire and Tunnel."

"Fight on the top of a huge monolith. Bait your opponents to the perilous edges of the tower - then shove them to their doom!"

"There's only one path to death in this long, narrow level. Meet your opponents in the centre, using wall-jumps to gain the higher ground in this claustrophobic corridor."

I've spent considerable time playing Mirage: Arcane Warfare in closed beta and it's made impressive improvements and evolved considerably since the days of Chivalry. The hack 'n run gameplay is as frantic and challenging as ever, and the myriad of ranged and agility-enhancing spells add so much to your arsenal. Every battle can be approached as strategically or as recklessly as you want, and fortune favors both the careful and the wild in turn. If you've never heard of the game before today, I urge you to check it out this weekend and see what you've been missing.

"Mirage is a skill-based multiplayer FPS that lets you tear your enemies limb from limb with destructive magic and melee combat. Experiment and find your perfect playstyle between six diverse classes including stealthy assassins, hulking brutes, powerful mages and more. With an unparalleled focus on truly feeling in control of your magic and sword, Mirage demands combat creativity and will challenge you like never before."
