It's been 25 years since the original Mortal Kombat, and the game's current developer and publisher are celebrating in style.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios have already announced a number of events that will celebrate the forthcoming anniversary, including a 25 Years of Mortal Kombat panel at New York Comic Con, the debut of in-game content for the mobile versions of WB's popular games, new living tower challenges in Mortal Kombat X, and, in case you missed it, Raiden's debut in Injustice 2.
But for those that want to celebrate with the games themselves, we found a number of bargains where you can get in all the gross fatalities you could ask for. That way, your wallet doesn't get brutalized like your opponent.
First off, BundleStars is offering Mortal Kombat XL for Steam for a pretty low price. You can get the original game, alongside the Kombat Packs 1 and 2 that add extra combatants for the low price of $7.50. That's practically a steal, especially if you've been looking for a beautiful fighting game to tear your buddies up in on Steam. The deal will only last a limited time, so get on it.
Let's say you own a console instead, like the Xbox One. You can still take advantage of a great deal, as you can get that version of Mortal Kombat XL on sale for just $12.00. You have to be an Xbox Live Gold member, but it's a sweet amount of savings, especially if you've been itching for a fight. The sale is going on through next Tuesday morning.
Finally, if you're still old school with your Xbox 360, there are savings on Mortal Kombat over there as well. You can grab the 2011 release of Mortal Kombat for just $9.99, and the Mortal Kombat Arcade Collection, which includes all three original arcade releases, can be yours for $7.39. Again, these deals last through Tuesday morning, and you can do a whole lot of uppercutting for just under $20.
Here's to 25 more years of gross fatalities and over-the-top fighting!
