Oblivion Remastered launched with many of the same bugs and glitches that plagued the original game. With the visual retouch and improvements to leveling, fans wanted to see the bug fixes and performance to match. The game’s first update fixed many longstanding bugs, but it also caused some new stuttering and frame rate issues. Today, a brand-new Oblivion Remastered update brings in performance improvements, bug fixes, and more UI streamlining. For now, the update is only available via the Steam Beta branch, but should be rolling out for other platforms soon.

Today’s patch brings Oblivion Remastered to version 1.2, at least where the Steam Beta branch is concerned. This update yet again focuses on fixing bugs with quests and gameplay, along with ironing out those performance issues. Bethesda hasn’t offered an exact timeline for when the patch will arrive on other platforms. However, the patch notes for the Steam Beta version give gamers a good idea of what to expect when Version 1.2 arrives on all platforms.
For me, the highlight here has got to be that the update will allegedly fix missing map markers. I am a notorious map marker follower, so when those quest icons disappear or glitch out, I am wandering the wilds completely lost. The update will also iron out a few more quest bugs, including some that caused game crashes.
