Pokemon Go has shrunk the amount of time players can participate in raids.

Yesterday, Pokemon Go made a host of changes to its raid system. The most notable change was an overhaul to its pool of raid bosses, replacing most of the raid bosses with new Pokemon.
However, players also noticed that the raid timer – that is the length of time that a raid stays on the map – has decreased from one hour to 45 minutes.
Pokemon Go didn’t give a reason for this change, but it probably has something to do with trying to make it easier for players to meet up and do raids together. If a raid attracts the same amount of players for a raid in a 45 minute window as it does during an hour, there’s a better chance that raid groups will be bigger, which means more successful raids.
The Big Downsides
However, a lot of players aren’t happy with the changes.ย Manyย Pokemon Goย players have pointed out that they need the full 60 minutes to get enough players to do a raid, and that the crowds often didn’t come out until the very end of the raid window. While the smaller raid timer might benefit players who need “random” players to fill out their raid teams, it doesn’t exactly help players who are organizing via Discord or Facebook.
Other players were upset that the raid eggs still appeared for a full hour before the raid. Many players would have preferred shrinking the amount of time a raid egg appeared before a raid while lengthening the amount the actual raid takes place.ย
