GameStop’s newest Pokemon distribution has officially begun. The US retailer is now giving away codes for a competitive Midnight Lycanroc for Pokemon Sun and Moon. The Lycanroc giveaway is part of a promotion for the new Pokemon Trading Card Game expansion “Guardians Rising,” which features Midnight Lycanroc as a featured character.

WWG first reported on the Midnight Lycanroc giveaway earlier this month, when a reader sent in a tip shortly after a GameStop calendar leaked.
The Midnight Lycanroc is one of Lycanroc’s two formes, and is usually only available in Pokemon Moon, where it can be obtained by evolving Rockruff at night.
This Lycanroc is a Level 50 Pokemon and comes with the moves Stone Edge, Fire Fang, Sucker Punch, and Swords Dance. It also has the ability No Guard, which means that none of its attacks miss…although it also can’t dodge any attacks. It also comes holding a Life Orb, which boosts the power of its moves by 30%.
The United States is actually one of the last countries to receive the Midnight Lycanroc distribution. The Lycanroc distribution is also currently being held in various European countries. Of course, Japan got a Shiny Tapu Koko giveaway for its TCG distribution, but Japan usually gets the best Pokemon giveaways.
Fans can get a code for Midnight Lycanroc at GameStop through June 5th. They can then unlock the Pokemon in their copy of Pokemon Sun and Moon by entering the code in the Mystery Gift function.
