Back in February, we reported that Square Enix would have to delay the release of these incredible Power Rangers – eh, we mean Magitek – exosuits. At the time, the new Power Rangers movie from Saban and Lionsgate was about to release, and apparently the folks at Saban thought that the Magitek suits for Noctis and the gang looked a little too much like the newly designed Power Rangers suits from the movie. If we’re being honest, yeah, they look pretty similar, but Square Enix has fixed them up and will be releasing them soon for free!

This, according to an official update from the Japanese Final Fantasy XV Twitter account. According to the post, the update is scheduled for this month, at least in July, so we figure that there’s a good chance we see these suits in the next week or two. Square Enix didn’t post any updated pictures of the exosuits, so we’re not sure whats kinds of changes were made to make them less legally offensive. We’re sure they still look great, though.
But it’s not all about form, right? It’s about function! These Magitek suits will grant the wearers with a brief window of invincibility. Square Enix was originally calling them “invincible suits,” so it sounds like these puppies are what you’ll want to be wearing headed into a big boss battle. According to SiliconEra, putting on the suit will grant Noctis and his crew 30 minutes of invincibility.
That sounds pretty overpowered to us, but the supposed catch is that you can only put these on once every 24 hours. 30 minutes of invincibility every single day sounds like quite a lot, and we’re wondering if that’s accurate or if they’re forbidden from boss fights.
As soon as we work out those questions and learn more about the suits we’ll update you straight away.
