Fans of classic anime, rejoice: now, you can take the heroes of Masami Kurumada’s Saint Seiya — also known as the Knights of the Zodiac — everywhere you go. Saint Seiya: Cosmo Fantasy, originally titled Saint Seiya: Zodiac Brave, is out now for Android and iOS. Released last April in Japan by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the game puts the player in charge of five Saints at a time, then challenges them to navigate the various arcs of the original anime series. There’s an array of characters to choose from (hundreds, actually), so fans of the classic series and manga can get ready to play their favorites in familiar storylines.

The game’s fight system is pretty simple and made specifically for mobile: players tap and swipe their way through different attacks in order to overpower and defeat the enemy. The new “Awaken Seventh Sense” feature is said to enhance your fighters to “untold realms of power”. A character building feature allows players to modify their heroes, who are all portrayed by their original anime voice actors, and include the Bronze Saints, Silver Saints, Golden Saints and the Black Saints. In total, over 100 characters are available to play, including new faces from what many know as The God Libra and the 12 Weapons arc.

Cosmo Fantasy lets the player relive famous arcs of the saga, from the Pegasus Arc to the Hades Arc, which has only recently been added to the game over in Japan.

Kensuke Sakai, the producer of BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc, noted the status of Saint Seiya as part of the legacy of Japanese animation. “The Saint Seiya series has kept fans riveted for decades,” said Sakai, “and Saint Seiya Cosmo Fantasy is a title that lives up to that legacy with an engrossing story, rich graphical detail and the trademark style of the revered anime.”
