If you need more Pepper Potts in your life, then you will want to mark your calendars for 2019. Avengers 4 is set to hit theaters in a couple years, but work is already underway on the project. And, thanks to new set photos, fans have learned Gwyneth Paltrow will return for the movie.
Over on Twitter, set photos from Avengers 4 recently hit the Internet, and the shots showed Pepper's staying power. The images, which were taken by BackGrid, show Paltrow standing on set with Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo. The actress is seen sans makeup and wearing a casual outfit comprised of white slacks and black tank-top.
There are no details lurking in the photos which hint at Pepper's role, but the character's return is a welcome one. Tony Stark's former assistant-turned-lover has kept a low profile in the MCU since Iron Man 3 debuted. After years of being MIA, Pepper finally returned to the big screen with Spider-Man: Homecoming this summer. The character was shown coordinating a press conference to announce Spider-Man's acceptance into the Avengers, but the event went south after Peter refused the long-awaited offer.
With Pepper confirmed for Avengers 4, fans are left to speculate about how the character will come into play. Very little is known about Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, so it is not clear how much of a role Pepper will have in the movie. Spider-Man: Homecoming hinted the Stark Industries CEO would be getting engaged to Tony, so her close connection to Iron Man makes Pepper a character fans expect to see.
If you look carefully, fans can see that Paltrow is rocking a ring on her left-hand that appears to be an engagement ring. Given the actress' single status, fans are left to believe the bling signifies her character's engagement to Tony Stark, so wedding bells may be heard at some point during Avengers 4.

Still, with the threat of Thanos looming over the MCU, fans are interested to see how Pepper will fare in the franchise. Avengers 4 has a yet-announced connection to Avengers: Infinity War, and the Mad Titan will be front-and-center in the third film. If Pepper is around in Avengers 4, fans are led to believe Thanos didn't see his plans to destroy Earth through in Avengers: Infinity War. Or, if he did manage to obliterate the planet, then something happened to reverse the event.
For now, fans will have to wait and see just how Pepper will work herself into Avengers 4. Set photos will be closely monitored for any and all spoilers, so the fandom should brace for an influx of netizen sleuths. And, once Marvel Studios finally released Avengers: Infinity War, fans can expect speculation about the fourth film to rev up to all-new levels.
