Sony Pictures and Marvel have officially released the first trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the first animated feature film to feature Marvel's web-slinger.

The trailer debuted at Comic Con Experience 2017 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Check out the trailer above.

The film is directed by Bob Persichetti and Peter Ramsay and written by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie). Shameik Moore voices Spider-Man, aka Miles Morales, Masherhala Ali Voices the Prowler, Miles' uncle Aaron Davis, and Brian Tyree Henry voices Jefferson Davis, Miles' father. Lieve Schrieber has also been cast in the film.

Here's the synopsis for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse supplied with the trailer:

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that's the first of its kind. "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.

One shot from the trailer shows Mile Morales, the Spider-Man from the Ultimate Marvel Universe who now resides in the Prime Marvel Universe, chasing the Prowler, who was Miles' criminal uncle in his own timeline (the character recently made a return to haunt Miles once again).

The Into the Spider-Verse subtitle comes from the 2014 "Spider-Verse" Marvel Comics event. That event saw the villain Morlun and his family, the Inheritors, attempting to wipe out every Spider character from across the Marvel Multiverse. To defend themselves, the Spider-Man heroes from every reality had to band together to defend themselves. Later, a group calling themselves the Web Warriors stayed together to help preserve the multiverse.
