When Agents of SHIELD returns in April, things will be slightly more… oppressive, to say the least.
Daisy Johnson and Jemma Simmons risked leaving the real world behind to save their friends within the Framework, leaving the LMD May—in the midst of an existential crisis—behind to blow up the rest of their replacements and a SHIELD facility with it.
And while earth might face some chaos with the SHIELD agents in an alternate reality, those agents will have some issues of their own to contend with.
Marvel has released new promotional images for the series latest arc, titled Agents of HYDRA, in which the terrorist organization has replaced SHIELD as the authority within the Framework.
Along with the new world order comes a heightened sense of paranoia and fear as HYDRA attempts to hunt and presumably eradicated the super-powered Inhuman population.
This should put Daisy in between a rock and a hard place, given that she's an Inhuman herself, working for (and sleeping with) the enemy. It's an interesting conundrum perfect for the show with many different possibilities.
Does resurrected beau Grant Ward know about her genetics? Does he care? Do her HYDRA superiors know? The Framework has the ability to "correct regrets," so it will be interesting to find out what Daisy's big regret is.
We should learn more about this topsy-turvy world and the culture it fosters when Agents of SHIELD comes back on Tuesday, April 4. Check out the posters in the gallery.
