Avengers 4 (no confirmed subtitle yet) will be following close behind Infinity War, and Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner recently revealed that filming on the former starts sooner rather than later.
Speaking with Collider last week, Renner stated that he was headed back to set for Avengers 4 in, "Ten days... Two weeks. Something like that."
Aside from telling fans when Avengers 4 starts filming, Renner just dropped a possible MAJOR SPOILER: Hawkeye apparently survives the events of Avengers: Infinity War. With some major deaths expected in Avengers 3, it's somewhat surprising that the guy with a bow and arrow survives the battle with a would-be god like Thanos. Then again, Renner's Hawkeye has proven to be quite a fan-favorite, so hearing that he makes it to Avengers 4 will probably be welcome news for a lot of people.
Even though Avengers 3 & 4 directors the Russo Brothers just commemorated the end of production on Infinity War a few weeks ago, it's only logical that Marvel Studios would bring back the cast and crew as soon as possible to complete the next chapter. Between scheduling the cast, and cost of production, getting this massive undertaking done in one big window of time is probably a smart play.
Avengers 3 & 4 were originally supposed to film as one massive production cut into two chapters, but the logistics of that were seemingly too complicated both in front of and behind the cameras, so it was decided to do two films, with two separate productions.
Avengers: Infinity War will be in theaters on May 4, 2018 ; Avengers 4 will follow on May 3, 2019.
