When Marvel’s The Inhumans comes to ABC in the fall, the most recognizable characters in the Inhumans pantheon will finally make their way to live action.

That’s according to a tweet from Marvel Senior Communications Manager Joe Taraborrelli, who took the official announcement from just minutes ago one step further.
“Are you ready to see the Inhuman Royal Family on TV??” He tweeted. “You better get ready!”

The tweet — from someone well-placed inside Marvel — came just minutes after the initial announcement of the Inhumans show and its 2-hour pilot, which will screen in IMAX in the summer of 2017 prior to the show’s premiere. At the time, fans on Twitter, excited for the news, were seeing that initial image of Black Bolt — the Inhuman ruler — and wondering aloud whether the royal family would be part of the story.
Black Bolt is easily the most recognizable member of the Inhumans in the comics, a character created by Jack Kirby in 1965 and the image most commonly associated with the group. A character with Hulk-level strength and powers, Black Bolt’s most notable ability is that when he speaks, he creates a massive, destructive shockwave.
The Inhuman Queen is Medusa, a distant cousin to Black Bolt and sister to Crystal, an Inhuman who was at one point married to Quicksilver and spent a good deal of time with the Fantastic Four as well. Medusa, one of the only people who would visit Black Bolt while he was in isolation as a child (to protect others from his voice), ultimately fell in love with and married him. Like her husband, she has extraordinary strength and reflexes; she also has prehensile hair.
Crystal, for her part, is more than just a designated superhero girlfriend/wife: she’s got those increased strength and reflexes, too, as well as the ability to manipulate air, fire, earth, and water.
Gorgon has enhanced strength and durability, as well as the ability to use his bull-like legs to create seismic shockwaves.
Karnak “The Shatterer” is a master martial artist with preternatural reflexes, an exhaustive fighting knowledge, and the ability to sense weak spots.
Triton, the green-skinned brother to Karnak, has the usual battery of undersea powers, including enhanced vision and strength, and the ability to breahe underwater.
Of course, there’s also the “family dog,” Lockjaw, who resembles a giant bulldog and serves in the capacity of the Inhumans’ teleporter and escort to the Royal Family of the Inhumans.
Marvel’s The Inhumans is coming to IMAX in Summer 2017, and then will debut on ABC in the fall.
