While she might lack any superhuman powers, Black Widow is one of the deadliest Avengers, and just about steals the show in every film. Scarlett Johansson has played the character to perfection, and it’s led many fans to call for a solo Black Widow movie, with plenty of Hollywood support as well.

That support includes fellow Avengers actor Chris Evans, who was asked about a potential Black Widow solo feature in a recent interview with Elle. Evans said “That’s a good question. It would really just clean up, wouldn’t it? Scarlett [Johansson] is so good at everything she does. She’s played such a crucial part in the other films. She always makes her presence so feltโeven when there are 50 different superheroes running around onscreen. I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens at some point in the future. I’m sure Scarlett would be open to it.”
Johansson’s character was a huge part of Captain America: The Winter Solider as well as Captain America: Civil War, and has also played big parts in The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron. She’s proved she can pull in box office numbers (Ghost in the Shell aside, though no one really blames Johansson for that one), so this really should be on Marvel Studios‘ slate in the near future. If not, they’re missing a grand opportunity.
