The R-rated super-romp was beloved by fans all over the world, and they could hardly hide their excitement when the character reappeared at the end of the film to announce a sequel was in the works.

In a recent interview, the Deadpool writers revealed that there may be more than just one Deadpool sequel on the way. In fact, they’ve got stories laid out for quite a few.

In an interview with The Playlist, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were asked about the possibility of working Wolverine into Deadpool’s story down the road. In their response, they revealed just what they’ve got on the way.

“Yeah, it would. If you think about it,” Reese explained. “If you’re looking at ‘Deadpool 2,’ if you’re looking at ‘X-Force,’ if you’re looking at ‘Deadpool 3,’ there’s not necessarily room for [another] team-up movie. I think it does create real scheduling and universe issues and something that could be ironed out, but it would need to be ironed out.”

Everyone knows Deadpool 2 is on the way, and the X-Force team-up film has basically be confirmed. Deadpool 3 however, wasn’t a certainty. According to this interview, there’s plans for four Deadpool-centric movies over the next few years.
