Krysten Ritter Says The Defenders and Jessica Jones Season 2 Filming Back to Back

We already knew that The Defenders would be hitting Netflix before Jessica Jones season 2 or any possible Daredevil season 3 (that hasn't yet been ordered). The order for series at this point is: Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, then at some point Jessica Jones and The Punisher.

But star Krysten Ritter, who plays the titular Jessica told Digital Spy she'll be filming her next two seasons (Defenders and JJ season 2) "back-to-back." She said they may even "overlap a bit."

"It's about to be a serious undertaking," the actress said, revealing she's already training for the rigorous extended shoot. "I'm starting my physical training - lots of weight training and boxing."

As far as the character's future, she said she's "excited to see what happens next for Jessica," and that "the end of season one left a lot of doors open and questions answered."

She couldn't reveal whether or not she's in Luke Cage or Iron Fist at all, though.

The Defenders brings the heroes of Netflix Marvel together, uniting Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist to fight a larger, as yet unknown threat to NYC.
