The Fourth of July is upon us, and the U.S. is celebrating the only way it knows how. Fireworks and BBQ grills will get a workout today, and Captain Americais being touted about in full-force to honor the holiday. So, it's not a huge surprise to see Mark Ruffalo celebrating the day with some Captain America flair.
Over on Twitter, Ruffalo took to social media to wish his followers a Happy Fourth. "Happy Birthday America," the actor tweeted with the hashtag '4thofJuly.' Ruffalo's message was tacked above an imposing picture of Captain America from his second standalone movie. Steve Rogers can be seen dressed in his tactical gear with his shield slipped onto his back.

Ruffalo isn't the only superhero who is using Captain America to ring in the Fourth of July. Chris Evans also nodded towards Cap with a simple tweet.
"Happy 4th of July everyone! I'm proud to be an American! Be safe and have fun today! (also thanks for all the Cap bday wishes! OLD MAN!)" Evans tweeted. The actor, who plays Captain America in the MCU, has good reason to wish Steve Roger a happy birthday. The man may only be 32-years-old biologically speaking, but Captain America turns 99 by the books today.
It has been some time since fans have gotten to see Evans and Ruffalo unite on-screen. The pair both starred in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but the Hulk was noticeably absent from Captain America: Civil War last year. The Hulk will return to theaters in just a few months with Thor: Ragnarok gets its release, and Captain America will get to reunite with his former teammate next year in Avengers: Infinity War.
