Michael Keaton Attacks Jimmy Kimmel For Liking Spider-Man More Than Batman

While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, Michael Keaton jumped off his seat and choked the late night host after Kimmel told him who his favorite comic book character is.

“I love Spider-Man,” Kimmel told his guest. “He’s my favorite comic [character], easily.”

Acting shocked, Keaton cuts him off: “What?!”

“Yeah, Spider-Man,” Kimmel quickly replies. “He’s the funny one.”

Leaping out of his chair, Keaton puts his hands on Kimmel’s neck and pretends to choke him. After instantly apologizing for his remarks, Keaton releases his hold on Kimmel and retakes his seat.

Assuming Keaton did what he did because he plays the Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Kimmel says, “I forgot, you’re his nemesis.”

But before Kimmel can get his next thought out of his mouth, the star of Tim Burton’s Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992) reveals the true reason he feigned anger by delivering his signature line: “”No, I’m Batman! What the f–k are you talking about?!”

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

The cast features Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr., Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Logan Marshall-Green, and Marisa Tomei.

The film is being directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car), based on a screenplay by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley (Vacation reboot) and Jon Watts & Christopher Ford and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released on July 7, 2017.
