Sony's Spider-Man: Homecoming spinoff Silver and Black will follow female characters Silver Sable and Black Cat - and apparently, the ladies could be getting some help from Marvel Comics team The Wild Pack.
The character update for Silver and Black was reported by The Hashtag Show, which states that previous reports of Wild Pack members like Powell and Klein being featured in Silver and Black as investigators backing up Silver Sable, has evolved into the full Wild Pack team being featured in the film.
Since Silver and Black is supposed to follow Silver Sable's hunt for the expert burglar known as Black Cat, having The Wild Pack with her would make sense, and creates potential for a great heist/escape sequence with Black Cat vs. The Wild Pack, early on in the film. Spider-Man villain The Chameleon is also rumored to be on the hunt for Black Cat, so The Wild Pack could have an entire criminal organization to battle.
So who are The Wild Pack? Get more of their Marvel Comics history, below:
Meet The Wild Pack
In Marvel Comics, The Wild Pack was a team first formed by Silver Sable's father in order to provide any number of mercenary services, whether criminal apprehension, property recovery, or anything in between. When Silver Sable's mother was killed by terrorists, the young girl trained to become the leader of The Wild Pack, joining the group at age seventeen. She officially becomes the leader of the Pack, following her father's apparent death.
Under Silver Sable, The Wild Pack expands its services across the globe, recruiting elite mercenaries, and sometimes even superpowered individuals. As it stands, The Wild Pack is one of the more fearsome groups in the Marvel Universe.
As stated, the group is logical addition to Silver and Black, as they represent a major portion of Silver Sable's character and backstory. They also provide the film with a necessary number of secondary characters, who can make things more difficult for Black Cat; offer multiple prongs of story to follow, and (if they're all male) provide a nice juxtaposition to the two female leads.
Silver and Black will be released in theaters on February 8, 2019. It will be directed by Love & Basketball's Gina Prince-Bythewood. Check out the full database page below to get the latest updates!
