The first batch of nominees for the 2017 Teen Choice Awards were announced today, and quite a few of them are sure to make Marvel fans happy.

The superhero entertainment company earned nine nominations in the contest’s first “wave”, covering both Marvel Studios‘ Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as Fox’s Marvel films.
20th Century Fox’s most recent Marvel output, the smash success Logan, earned two Teen Choice nominations – one for Choice Action Movie, as well as a Choice Action Movie Actor nod for the film’s star, Hugh Jackman.
Marvel Studios’ most recent film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, earned several nods as well. The film itself is nominated for Choice Sci-Fi Movie, with acting recognition for both Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana in the Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor and Actress categories.
Last fall’s Doctor Strange is also a Teen Choice nominee, with the film in the Choice Fantasy Movie category. Doctor Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, earned a Choice Fantasy Movie Actor nomination as well.
On Marvel’s television side, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is joining the contest as well. The show itself is nominated for Choice Action TV Show, alongside fellow comic book shows Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Gotham. One of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s most recent break out stars, Gabriel Luna, received a nomination for Choice Action TV Actor.

Voting for these categories will only be open until Friday, June 22nd, so be sure to cast your ballot before then. The Teen Choice Awards ceremony will be on Fox on August 13th, 2017.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn (Slither). The film marks the return of the original Guardians, including Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord; Zoe Saldana (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Gamora; Dave Bautista (Spectre) as Drax; Vin Diesel (Furious 7) as the voice of Groot; Bradley Cooper (American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (Jumper) as Yondu; Karen Gillan (The Big Short) as Nebula; and Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls) as Kraglin. New cast members include Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (The Knick, The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, The Thing).
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is in theaters now. Spider-Man: Homecoming lands on July 7, 2017, followed by Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017. After that Black Panther debuts on February 16, 2018, while Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018. Ant-Man and the Wasp is slated for July 6, 2018, followed by Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019.
