On Wednesday, The Wolverine star Hugh Jackman shared an 11-second video of himself doing clapping pushups. Jackman is currently filming the still untitled third Wolverine solo movie, which will be his last time playing the character. As such, he needs to keep in superhero shape.

The intense physical regimen involved with playing Wolverine is one of the reasons Jackman is retiring from the role, but Jackman also just feels like the timing is right.

"It just felt like it was the right time to do it," Jackman said on an episode of Dr. Oz in 2015. "And let's be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I'm so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it."

Jackman first playing wolverine in 2000's X-Men, which birthed the entire X-Men film franchise and was arguably the first film in the modern era of superhero movies. Jackman returned to the role for X2: X-Men United in 2003 and X-Men: The Last Stand in 2006. In 2009, Jackman starred in the first Wolverine solo movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He then made a cameo appearance in the 2011 prequel X-Men: First Class and starred again in the second Wolverine solo movie, The Wolverine, in 2013. Jackman and the rest of the original X-Men trilogy cast returned for X-Men: Days of Future Past in 2014, and he had a small role in this year's X-Men: Apocalypse.

Fox hasn't released much official information about Jackman's final Wolverine movie. Scheduled for release in 2017, the film's rumored title is Wolverine: Weapon X, and it is said to be a loose adaptation of the 2008-2009 comic book story "Old Man Logan." Patrick Stewart will reprise his role as Professor X in the movie, and the film is also rumored to introduce Wolverine's clone, X-23. Mr. Sinister is rumored to be the film's villain.

Check out when Jackman's last Wolverine movie and other movies are coming out in ComicBook.com's Movie Release Schedule.
