If you don't know who Korg is, then it is time you brush up on your comic book lore. Taika Waititi posted a photo to Instagram which teases the character's appearance in Thor: Raganarok, and fans are getting excited.

The New Zealand native took to social media to share a rather colorful teaser image. Waititi share a photo of a Korg keyboard and told fans to "watch this space." So, unless the director plans on serenading his thousands of Instagram subscribers, then fans should look forward to seeing Korg in Ragnarok after his brief cameo in Thor: The Dark World.

For those of you unfamiliar with Korg, here's a quick rundown of the Marvel character. Created in 1963, Korg debuted in Journey Into Mystery as a part of the Kronan alien race. The character faced down with Thor after his brethren attempted to overtake Earth, leaving him enslaved on the alien planet Sakaar as punishment. Korg was controlled by the Red King by an obedience disk that forced him to fight in a gladiator-styled arena.

In the comics, Korg becomes an ally to Hulk after the green giant is exiled to Sakaar. He was also part of the gladiator group who rebelled against the Red King once the Silver Surfer was able to destroy the obedience disks which controlled their actions.

This history is particularly relevant to Ragnarok since fans know the film will explore elements of Planet Hulk. Marvel Studios dropped the news during San Diego Comic Con when they debuted Hulk's Gladiator armor. Other sources have said both Thor and Hulk will be seen "in some gladiatorial games run by the Grandmaster" who is being played by Jeff Goldblum.

Currently, no one knows how Thor winds up involved with those death matches, but fans are speculating the Asgardian prince ends up fighting alongside Hulk while he searches for the ultimate weapon to stop Ragnarok. Perhaps it will have something to do with an entirely new alien race called the Cotati that will allegedly appear in the film. Thor will reportedly encounter the ancient extraterrestrials along his quest.

The cast of Thor: Ragnarok features returning stars Chris Hemsworth (Rush) in the title role for the fifth time; Tom Hiddleston (Kong: Skull Island) as Thor's adversarial, adopted brother, Loki; Idris Elba (The Dark Tower) as the Asgardian sentry, Heimdall; and Sir Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs) again portraying Odin, Ruler of Asgard. Newcomers to the franchise include Cate Blanchett (Cinderella) as the mysterious and powerful new villain Hela, Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park) as the eccentric Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson (Creed) as the classic hero Valkyrie, Karl Urban (Star Trek) as Skurge, and Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers) reprising his role of Bruce Banner/The Hulk.

Thor: Ragnarok will be released on November 3, 2017.
