Hela's design, specifically her headdress, is easily recognizable as the work of Jack Kirby, the "King of Comics" who co-created the Marvel Universe, including Thor and Hela. Monday would have been Kirby's 100th birthday, and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige made it clear that Ragnarok is a "love letter" to Kirby's vision. Director Taka Waititi has also been open about Kirby's influence on the movie.
Based on the trailers for Thor: Ragnarok, we know that Hela will destroy Asgard and banish Thor to a planet where he's forced to fight without his hammer in an arena. Luckily, he finds a friend from work on the same planet.
