Marvel’s Hall H panel from Comic-Con International: San Diego 2016 was an epic event for superhero movie fans. The studio revealed their own new logo, a new poster and new trailer for Doctor Strange, offered an update on the status of Thor during the event of Captain America: Civil War and some thoughts on the film, revealed new footage from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, introduced one of the Spider-Man: Homecoming villains and brought out the film’s entire live-action cast, and officially announced that Brie Larson will play Carol Danvers in the upcoming Captain Marvel movie.

On top of all of that, Marvel Studios also officially introduced the core cast for the upcoming Black Panther movie. Chadwick Boseman, who already made his debut as T’Challa in Captain America: Civil War, was the first to be introduced.
Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordon, both of whom were previously rumored to be in talks for undisclosed roles in the film, were both officially announced during the presentation as joining the cast. Nyong’o will play Nakia, a member of the Dora Milaje, Wakanda’s elite royal guard (in the comics, Nakia leaves the Dora Milaje and becomes the villain Malice). Jordan will play Erik Killmonger, one of Black Panther’s fiercest foes who, in the comics at least, has a history of working with the villain Klaw (introduced to the Marvel cinematic universe as Ulysses Klaue, played by Andy Serkis, in Avengers: Age of Ultron).
Finally, Marvel surprised fans by introducing The Walking Dead fan favorite Danai Gurira to the cast. She will play Okoye, the head of the Dora Milaje.
