After Logan became a smash hit, fans immediately began wondering if they would ever see Dafne Keen take up the mantle of Laura again, and if she would be the future of X-23. While it has seemed unlikely for some time, X-Men producer Hutch Parker has finally revealed that Keen's return is definitely a possibility.
While speaking with Screen Rant, Parker was asked about X-23. After all, the young mutant was the talk of the town by the end of Logan. Could she be appearing in another X-Men film?
"Anything is possible. I think part of the fun of this universe is, as it's expanded and it's gotten more off-shoots, there are ways to potentially explore X-23 further. It's something we've been talking about a little bit and have, frankly, going back a bit. So that's a possibility."
So, you're saying there's a chance!
Some folks doubted that X-23 would find her way into the other X-Men films, mainly due to the style and setting of Logan.
Director James Mangold made it clear that the film was essentially a standalone project, with nothing but the past of Logan and Charles connecting it to the other films. The movie was meant to end where it did, without anything further.
That's why it was set in the not-so-distant future. With that kind of timeline, the characters from Logan wouldn't exactly fit into the other movies in the X-Men franchise.
However, this franchise has never been shy about the time-travelling abilities of these characters, so Parker hit the nail on the head.
Anything is possible.
Logan stars Hugh Jackman (Logan), Boyd Holbrook (Donald Pierce), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Dafne Keen (Laura Kinney/X-23), Stephen Merchant (Caliban), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Gabriela), and Richard E. Grant (Dr. Zander Rice).
