What's going on with the post-credits sequence on X-Men: Apocalypse?

According to Collider, the tag -- the exact nature of which wasn't revealed during their conversation with executive producer Simon Kinberg -- seemingly teases the next Wolverine movie rather than another X-Men film.

Kinberg had a different take.

"It's a nod toward potentially a lot of different movies," Kinberg said. "I mean, certainly the Wolverine movie is related to what happens at the end of it, but there's also another character that's introduced, at least in name, in the tag and he could show up in any host of different X-Men films. Maybe a Gambit movie, maybe another X-Men movie."

X-Men: Apocalypse is the ninth film in the X-Men franchise, and the fourth to be directed by Bryan Singer. The film features a screenplay by Simon Kinberg, and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Olivia Munn, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Lucas Till, Josh Helman, Lana Condor and Ben Hardy.
