With the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it's hard to understate the value of having Oscar Isaac appearing in the title role in X-Men: Apocalypse when the film hits theaters in a week.

Of course, the fact that he's buried in armor and makeup makes it hard for casual moviegoers to recognize Poe Dameron. So 20th Century Fox are doing their best to make sure audiences know who they're looking at.

To that end, they've released a new featurette looking at Apocalypse himself.

"Apocalypse finds that the world is weak and he wants to destroy it," says executive producer Simon Kinberg, also a veteran of the Star Wars universe, in the video embedded below.

"What Apocalypse is capable of is terrifying," Isaac himself adds.

You can check out the promotional clip below.

X-Men: Apocalypse is the ninth film in the X-Men franchise, and the fourth to be directed by Bryan Singer. The team, now well into the 1980s, finds themselves squaring off against Apocalypse -- the first mutant, born in Ancient Egypt and teased at the end of X-Men: Days of Future Past -- and his Four Horsemen: Storm, Magneto, Archangel, and Psylocke.

The film features a screenplay by Simon Kinberg, and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Olivia Munn, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Lucas Till, Josh Helman, Lana Condor and Ben Hardy.
