A staple of comic book movies is the famous post-credits scenes which tease future films or events within the heroes' universes. 2017 was no exception, with more post-credits scenes than ever, but only one of which could earn Best Post-Credits Scene from ComicBook.com's 2017 Golden Issue Awards.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 packed five scenes into its credits, none of which managed to take home the Golden Issue Award. Nor could Thanos arriving to wreak havoc on the remains of Asgard in Thor: Ragnarok. The hilarious Captain America message regarding patience couldn't top the charts, which is the same fate of Spider-Man: Homecoming's tease of the Sinister Six. Each were nominated, but one stood above them.

And the winner of Best Post-Credits Scene is...

Deathstroke's arrival in Justice League!

Justice League was divisive among critics and fans. A change in directors and a fake upper lip were enough to distract some viewers during the first true ensemble of the biggest characters in DC Comics. However, there was no debate about how epic the film's post-credits scene was.

After not only revealing Lex Luthor had escaped his imprisonment from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League's post-credits scene took fans to an off-shore yacht. It was there where Joe Manganiello's Slade Wilson arrived and removed his mask, showing off a true-to-the-comics look and setting up the Legion of Doom in the future of the DC Extended Universe.

List of Nominees:

  • Deathstroke Tease [WINNER] - Justice League
  • Adam Warlock - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
  • Thanos' Ship - Thor: Ragnarok
  • Captain America PSA - Spider-Man: Homecoming
  • Scorpion and Sinister Six Teases - Spider-Man Homecoming
