Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was embraced by many fans for its ways of connecting to the original trilogy of films. Through surprise cameos, pieces of dialogue, and familiar locations, it helped further bring the Star Wars universe closer together.

And now, one of Rogue One‘s stars wants to take that a step further.

Alan Tudyk recently spoke to Uproxx about his role as the droid K-2SO, and expressed his desire to reprise the character in another Star Wars film – Han Solo: A Star Wars Story. Since K-2 met his tragic end during Rogue One‘s third act, the upcoming prequel film – which is set earlier in the overall universe – would be an easy way for him to play the character again.

“I would like it.” Tudyk admitted. “I don’t think it’s possible, because I think they’re done with the Han Solo one, aren’t they?”

After the interviewer explained to Tudyk that the film has just started production, the actor became much more optimistic about his chances.

“They just started? That would be cool.”

When the interviewer suggested that K-2SO could appear in a future Star Wars film aside from Han Solo, Tudyk stood by his original idea, saying “No, I want to be in that one, man.”

But according to Tudyk, there is one other Star Wars project that he would gladly reprise the role in.

“I want a Cassian [Andor] and K-2 movie where we see who they were beforehand.” Tudyk explained. “And see the story of Cassian finding K-2 and who was K-2 back when he was in the Empire and all of that. So there’s a lot of stories. Now that they’re telling these different stories, there’s a lot of opportunities to branch out. I’m pushing for that one! That one sounds good.”

It’s unclear whether or not K-2’s human companion, Cassian, will make any future appearances in the franchise as well. Although Diego Luna has also campaigned for some sort of Cassian-centric spinoff, he was recently less vocal about whether or not he will appear in Han Solo.

Here’s hoping that if Cassian does make a cameo in Han Solo, he will bring his sarcastic robot friend with him.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit Digital HD on March 24 and then Blu-ray and DVD on April 4. Han Solo: A Star Wars Story is currently in production for a 2018 release.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, it’s the first of the new standalone features from Lucasfilm and Disney, which take place outside the core “Skywalker Saga” of films noted by an Episode number. Rogue One tells the story of the small band of rebels that were tasked with stealing the plans to the first Death Star.
