Shudder Is Bringing Back Its Best Programming Lineup (Including an All-New Ghoul Log Special)

Long has Shudder’s Season of Screams been the anticipated kickoff to spooky season. Horror fans everywhere look forward to it each year, and this year’s four-month-long horror lineup is sure to be one of its most impressive yet, as it’s bringing in not only blockbuster fan favorites but also some lesser-known horror gems to carry fans from Halloween all the way through the holidays and into the New Year. Because what better way to ring in the New Year than absolutely terrified and loving it?

First and foremost, the Ghoul Log—the platform’s take on a traditional Yule log disguised as a creepy candlelit jack-o’-lantern—is returning on October 1st. Other famous offerings include Insidious 1-3, Twilight Zone: The Movie, and all four of Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho films. The VHS franchise is also returning with its most recent film, V/H/S/Mixtape. Some lesser-known films are also making their way into the lineup, including The Cycle, Hallowarrior, The Creep Tapes, and the 2026 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards. Obviously, the iconic Tales from the Crypt will be making its return as well, alongside Creepshow, the Hell House LLC franchise, and more.

Horror Fans Will Be Spoiled for Choice This Season of Screams

Shudder isn’t messing around when it comes to its original film and TV offerings, with tons slated for this Season of Screams. One of the movies most worth looking forward to is the premiere of Goody Goody, which centers on expectant parents and their midwife as the three experience a moment of calm and quiet amidst the hours of a long home birth. But soon the trio realizes that something is desperately wrong, and there’s no escape as a blizzard keeps them trapped in the house. It stars Samantha Robinson (The Love Witch), Colby Hollman (Fear the Walking Dead), and Colleen Foy (Station 19) and promises to be a sinister good time.

Other original films you can look forward to are Bloody Tennis, which centers around a young woman who receives a scholarship to a brutal tennis camp, Infirmary, a found-footage film with the bodycam footage of a missing psych ward security guard at the center, V/H/S/Mixtape, the ninth (and possibly most terrifying) installment in the iconic V/H/S franchise and, most excitingly, Mārama, which received a 100% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes and tells the story of a young Māori woman who takes it upon herself to destroy the Englishmen who left her family in ruins. If none of these scratch your particular horror itch, the platform offers plenty more shows and films, with something for everyone, as well as live watch parties so you don’t have to watch alone in the dark. And trust us, you won’t want to miss the La Llorona and Mārama double feature.
