Star Wars has brought families together for a few generations now, and countless fans have stories of siblings or parents introducing them to the galaxy far, far away. The same can be said of those involved in Star Wars, including some of the stars of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Donnie Yen said his kids, who later dressed as Star Wars characters for Halloween, encouraged him to take a role in the film. He's not the only one from the cast who said it's impacted his family life, though.
"I have the most beautiful boy and girl, they're 8 and 6," actor Diego Luna, who stars in Rogue One as Captain Cassian Andor told GMA this week. "My little boy - our whole relation has changed since this news came out. He's a huge fan of Star Wars, and when I told him [I got the role], he just went crazy!'
The actor said that usually, his son hates that as an actor he has to go away.
"Work used to separate us, he hated my job. He was like, 'where are you going? Why for a month? Are you crazy, you're going to leave me here?'" Luna said. "Now he was like, 'Yeah, dad, you gotta go! It's 6 a.m., what are you doing here?'"
His son also admonished him ahead of time.
"Please behave," his son would tell him, mimicking what father said to son when heading to school. "It was the other way around. 'Make sure you do what the director says.'"
His kids both came to the set, getting to visit them at the Rebel base, which Luna said was "a kid's dream. You have all the ships, the people running around, the droids. My kid looked at me like, 'This is paradise, we're never going to go home, right?'"

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits US theaters December 16, 2016. Directed by Gareth Edwards, it's the first of the new standalone features from Lucasfilm and Disney, which take place outside the core "Skywalker Saga" of films noted by an Episode number. Rogue Onetells the story of the small band of rebels that were tasked with stealing the plans to the first Death Star. The story spins directly off the opening crawl from the original Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. In that crawl, it read: "Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet."
