While rumors have been steadily coming to light regarding the latest film in the main Star Wars Saga, we only just got our first official look at the movie as revealed at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando.

Director Rian Johnson met the lofty fan expectations when he unveiled the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, giving fans a glimpse at what Rey and Luke Skywalker are up to on Ach-To while the First Order take on the Resistance.

And while we’ve already highlighted the new speeder ships going up against the new First Order Walkers on a mysterious new planet, we’ve yet to confirm the rumors over whether this planet was previously mentioned in the Rogue One Visual Guide.

Well, Johnson himself confirmed those rumors when he said that new planet is indeed Crait, hinting that it has a larger role than simply being a base of operations for the Resistance.

“It’s way out there. It’s uncharted,” Johnson said to EW. “It’s a mineral planet and so there are mines on it.”

As we previously touched up on, Crait was a resource for the Rebellion in their fight against the Empire. It was hidden and served as a source of funding for their military campaign. It is being used once again in the fight against the First Order.

“It ends up playing a key role in the movie,” Johnson said, and indicated that the Resistance speeders show up to deal with an immediate threat.

A threat like, maybe, a fleet of “Gorilla” Walkers stampeding toward their base of operations?

The rumor also hinted that the speeders were B-Wings, though that has since been debunked. Though they do have the appearance of a B-Wing when they aren’t in battle mode, the pods tend to stay horizontal and perpendicular to the ground, unable to launch into the atmosphere.

As we previously mentioned, this forthcoming conflict seems to hint that we’re getting a thematic tribute to the Battle of Hoth from the Empire Strikes Back.

Just as the Force Awakens paid homage to many moments from the original Star Wars movie, the Last Jedi appears to reference one of the most revered films in the franchise’s storied history.
