But, here’s the real spoiler alert: he didn’t spill a single thing.
The drama all began earlier today when Boyega posted a cryptic message on Twitter. The actor wrote, “Time to play a villain eyโฆ” as he nodded to an upcoming role he recently nabbed. However, fans took the tweet as one which pertained to Star Wars, and the Internet began buzzing over whether Finn takes a dark turn in The Last Jedi.
Boyega quickly picked up on the fandom’s distress and tried to quell rumors. At first, the British actor played off the reaction with a cackling emoji, but then he wrote up a direct statement denying the reports. “Guys please lol it is not Star Wars related,” he stressed.
Fans finally calmed down after Boyega addressed the spoiler controversy, but another Star Wars actor had to bring up the issue one more time. Hamill took to Twitter to rib his junior over the ordeal, writing, “See how easy it is to accidentally leak a spoiler, son?”
“Hope you didn’t say anything about OUR relationship in Ep VIII,” he finished before using the hashtag ‘Scared Sithless.’
