Riverdale Season Finale: The Sweet Hereafter Featurette

Following last week's reveal that Jason Blossom was murdered by his own father and that FP Jones is facing serious jail time for his involvement in the cover-up, tonight's season final of Riverdale will be a downer for Cheryl, who is stuck living with her cold-hearted mother, and Jughead, who is sent off to a foster home and has to attend a new and less than ideal high school.

"Last episode we learned that the true murderer of Jason Blossom was not FP Jones, Jughead's father, but was in fact, Jason's father, Clifford Blossom," Executive Producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa says in the video above. "When that truth came out, Clifford Blossom hung himself, leaving behind a lot unanswered questions. Even though he didn't shoot Jason Blossom, FP did work to hide the body and clean up the mess. So he's in jail. They say that he's gonna have to move in with a foster home on the south side and that he's going to transfer to South Side High. South Side High is nowhere near as nice as Riverdale High, and it seems to be a dangerous place. So you're kind of wondering, is Jughead gonna fit in there or is it gonna be even worse for him there?

"This episode is also a big big episode for Cheryl Blossom," he continued. "She is feeling quite hopeless and our gang tries to help her, connect with her. But she seems on a collision course with something very very dark and very very dangerous."

Archie (KJ Apa) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) continue to grow closer. Betty (Lili Reinhart) is tired of her family acting as if nothing has happened and confronts her mother. Jughead (Cole Sprouse) finds himself in an unexpected situation, leaving Archie and the gang scrambling. Hermione (Marisol Nichols) makes Fred (Luke Perry) an offer that seems too good to be true. Meanwhile, the truth about Blossom's family business is revealed leaving Cheryl (Madelain Petsch) to take matters into her own hands. Madchen Amick and Ashleigh Murray also star.

Riverdale stars KJ Apa as Archie, Cole Sprouse as Jughead, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camilla Mendes as Veronica Lodge, and Luke Perry as Archie's father Fred Andrews, among others.
