As Marvel Studios plots out a new course for film and TV output, one of the biggest changes it’s making is how it conducts business on the small screen. Moving forward, there’s more of an emphasis on producing annual seasons of a smaller number of series, which ideally will make Marvel Cinematic Universe TV shows easier for people to follow. Daredevil: Born Again is a key cog of this new strategy. Before Season 1 premiered on Disney+ earlier this year, the second season was in production. Now, with several months remaining before Season 2 arrives, fans already know the fate of Daredevil: Born Again Season 3.

In an interview with IGN, Marvel Studios head of streaming, television, and animation Brad Winderbaum confirmed that Daredevil Born Again: Season 3 is moving forward. “In terms of Daredevil, yeah, we are greenlit for Season 3 and we start shooting next year,” he said.
Marvel Studios Is Very Confident in Daredevil: Born Again
Winderbaum’s comments will likely come as a pleasant surprise for Daredevil fans. Back in July, Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio said the Daredevil: Born Again team had ideas in mind for a third season, but it would up to the fans to watch and the creatives to impress the higher-ups in order for it to get off the ground. That Marvel is going full speed ahead on Daredevil: Born Again before viewers get a chance to watch Season 2 (which is set to premiere in March 2026) is an encouraging sign for the show moving forward. It indicates the next season of Daredevil: Born Again is of high quality and will have viewers demanding more.
It’s no secret that Marvel’s had a rough go of things during the Multiverse Saga, and Daredevil: Born Again was no exception. While the series earned positive reviews thanks to its performances and mature tone, it struggled with viewership. Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 was the first Marvel show to not chart on Nielsen’s top 10 list of original streaming shows. Marvel must be confident that Season 2 can rebound in that department as it builds off the tantalizing conclusion to Season 1. Daredevil assembling an army of allies to push back against Mayor Fisk’s rule over New York is an intriguing set up that should deliver plenty of drama and action.
With a third season already greenlit, Daredevil: Born Again is becoming the flagship program for this new era of Marvel TV, just as the original Daredevil series was for Netflix’s Defenders shows. Interestingly, Daredevil: Born Again is set to feature Defenders reunions; Krysten Ritter is reprising Jessica Jones in Season 2, and fans are convinced Luke Cage actor Mike Colter is coming back as well (though his involvement has yet to be confirmed). Potentially, Daredevil: Born Again could be used as a launchpad for other series revolving around these other characters, creating a stable of heroes to hold down the TV corner of the MCU. That would bring back memories of the Netflix shows operating separately from the films of the MCU, but if the idea is to reduce the amount of homework viewers have to do to keep up, focusing on one group of characters on the small screen while the Avengers play on the big screen makes some sense.
Winderbaum doesn’t share an exact window for when Daredevil: Season 3 will begin filming, but it stands reason to believe cameras could roll early next year — just as Season 2 was in production in early 2025. If Marvel wants annual seasons, completing filming early in the year will give the creative team plenty of time to handle various post-production responsibilities, putting Season 3 on track to arrive in 2027. Fans will surely be on the lookout for set photos to get hints of what the showrunners have in store — not just for Daredevil, but perhaps for the rest of Marvel TV.
