The CW had released photos for “Chapter Nineteen: Death Proof”, the upcoming sixth episode of Riverdale‘s second season.

In the episode, Mayor McCoy (Robin Givens) further escalates tensions between the North and Southside leading Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Archie (KJ Apa) to attempt to stop an alliance between the Serpents and a dangerous long time rival. Meanwhile, Betty (Lili Reinhart) will need Veronica’s (Camila Mendes) help regarding the burgeoning mystery surrounding The Sugarman while Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) confronts her mother Penelope (Nathalie Boltt) after a traumatic experience.
Like all episodes of Riverdale, “Chapter Nineteen: Death Proof” takes its name from a movie and this time it’s Quentin Tarantino’s 2007 American exploitation film that was released as half of the Grindhouse double-feature with Robert Rodriguez’s Planet Terror. Death Proof the movie stars Kurt Russel as a stuntman who uses his “death-proof” stunt car to murder young women in staged accidents. The film pays tribute to a handful of 1970s film genres, including slasher, exploitation and muscle car films and from the photos in our gallery, it looks like 70s-era muscle cars will have a place in the upcoming episode of Riverdale.
